I paid a visit to Ikea this morning…not something that typically fills me with joy. However, upon my exit stood an iPad with 4 faces and 1 question on the screen. Have you enjoyed shopping today?

I paused briefly and then clicked the “Really Happy Face”… Why?
Staff service was friendly, products were available in store, price was great and I got all I needed quickly. The simplicity of the process, (5 seconds), made me realise more than ever, how instant reviews have become a growing marketing tool.
Reviewing has changed the face of online marketing since the Internet boom. It allows businesses to have active, positive participation from consumers and gives consumers a solid foundation to create a relationship with those businesses. So as great business owners we have to encourage and monitor them closely, good and especially bad.
Instant reviews like I experienced today have created a new form of marketing and communication that bridges the gap between simple word-of-mouth and traditional email feedback. As consumers we all value reviews, however the importance of online reviews for businesses is mind boggling; from increase of brand awareness to potential increases of profit in the long run.
So actively encourage reviews and you will see the benefit, if you run a great business, it’s going to make your marketing better 😁
